Serkan Kurt:
Hi, we are with Fevzi Korkutata, CTO of Volthread…
Hi Fevzi, welcome to our event. You are serving as Oracle Middleware and ISV partner. As an expert partner, you have completed your expertise certificates in Oracle SOA and Oracle WebLogic products, congratulations. Could you please outline the advantages of specializing and demonstrating proficiency as an valued Oracle Partner?
M.Fevzi Korkutata
“…I think specializing and staying focused are crucial. We’re growing by bringing in skilled engineers, and I regularly share my project experiences with my valuable team members.”
Hi Serkan and the audience. I would like to thank the whole Oracle Turkey team. Our cooperation with Oracle has been going on for many years. As you mentioned, we have completed our service expertise of Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle SOA Suite Integration expertise. We continue our expertise in Oracle cloud infrastructure as well as middleware. Volthread Technology is giving consultancy to Oracle customers on four key points.
- Java / Java EE / Jakarta EE
- Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW) product family
- Cloud native microservice architectures that we call “DevOps as a Service”
- Software products that we developed in our R&D centers
We prefer using these four technologies in our consulting service, which has deepened our expertise in Oracle technologies. By closely collaborating with Oracle’s product managers and providing feedback, we aim to grow and move forward.
Oracle, as a global brand, develops software across various sectors such as energy, construction, and tourism. It’s challenging for an integrator company to know all end-to-end implementations in these diverse sectors. Hence, focusing on specific technologies and building competence becomes valuable.
Specializing allows us to offer permanent and long-term solutions for Oracle customers, leading to increased customer satisfaction. At Volthread, we’ve experienced the benefits of this approach in numerous large-scale domestic and international Oracle projects. Ultimately, our goal is to achieve results that leave all parties satisfied. We strongly believe in competent technology engineering, specialization, and focused work, with Oracle’s expertise certificates playing a crucial role in this journey.
Serkan Kurt:
Thank you. Could you provide an example of your recent successful projects that showcase these competencies?
M.Fevzi Korkutata
“The key to success in large-scale digital transformation IT software projects lies in assembling hands-on experts with experience in production go-live IT projects and supporting them with a highly qualified project management office. Setting up an adaptable and capable IT project team with a healthy IT transformation evolution takes years.”
It is not feasible for a single company to deliver an end-to-end solution and successfully bring large-scale digital transformation projects to production. Such projects typically involve:
- Software producer companies,
- Software development integrator companies, and
- Most importantly, success in the transition depends on companies collaborating harmoniously, each contributing its expertise in bringing systems to production.
Implementing a cohesive approach, where hands-on experts from different domains work together, supported by a qualified project management office, is essential for the seamless execution of these complex initiatives. This collaborative effort ensures that the diverse skill sets required for successful project completion are effectively integrated.
“The key to success in large-scale digital transformation IT software projects lies in assembling hands-on experts with experience in production go-live IT projects and supporting them with a highly qualified project management office. Setting up an adaptable and capable IT project team with a healthy IT transformation evolution takes years.”
This approach ensures that the expertise gained from previous go-live experiences is leveraged, enhancing the likelihood of successful outcomes in digital transformation initiatives. Establishing a robust project management office is crucial, as it provides the necessary support and oversight to ensure the effective coordination of various project elements.
The time investment in forming an adaptable and capable IT project team pays off in the long run, as it contributes to the evolution of a healthy IT transformation process. Over the years, this team becomes adept at navigating the challenges posed by digital transformations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
In summary, the key to achieving success in large-scale digital transformation IT software projects involves assembling a skilled team, providing them with robust support through a qualified project management office, and recognizing that the process of building a capable IT team is a valuable long-term investment.
I believe the crucial factor lies in the collaboration and harmony among producers, partners, and customers within the ecosystem. Take, for instance, the Izmir Gaz and Eskisehir Gaz projects; they serve as important references for us. These projects executed a highly successful digital transformation, implementing the “Oracle Utilities CC&B” solution in production. I extend my congratulations to them once again.
At Volthread, our involvement in these projects centers around:
- Ensuring the performance of the Oracle CC&B product
- Conducting application infrastructure installations
- Ensuring that middleware systems seamlessly and trouble-free operate with the peripheral systems they connect to.
Despite the project’s complexity, which encompasses multiple technologies, our ability to clearly navigate this transition is a testament to our expertise and experience, accomplished in collaboration with our engineers.
Our motivation is to establish trouble-free systems that function optimally for this project. However, recognizing that projects are holistic endeavors, the expertise of our teams significantly enhances the success rate of critical and large projects.
Ultimately, both the customer and the industry emerge victorious at the end of the day.
Serkan Kurt:
With ISV; You have a WLSDM product that you developed as an Oracle SOA and Oracle WebLogic expertise, could you tell us about the current status and roadmap of the product?
M.Fevzi Korkutata
“I believe that with the release of our product’s new versions, we will introduce a new level of differentiation and innovation on a global scale in Java APM and application performance monitoring technologies, benefiting our global customer base.”
Yes, Serkan, as you mentioned, this product is a result of our expertise. We have developed the “WebLogic Smart Dashboard & Monitoring” product since 2015, commonly referred to as WLSDM or Smart Dashboard. Essentially, this product serves as the global Application Performance Monitoring (APM) solution for the Oracle WebLogic and FMW product family. It has matured significantly and established a strong global presence. To date, we have exported WLSDM and WL-OPC products to 23 countries, including recent exports to a bank in Bolivia, a telecom company in Peru, an ISV company in Argentina, and government entities in Canada and Hungary.
WLSDM is featured on the “Oracle Cloud Marketplace” and is recognized as a highlighted technology solution. We maintain close collaborations with other Oracle ISV partners. This enables us to measure application performance metrics and code quality for software solutions running on the Oracle platform of ISVs. Ongoing product development takes place in both our Ankara R&D office and our Istanbul office. We are on the verge of releasing new versions developed in a cloud-native structure compatible with container technologies. Our preparations are underway to support “Oracle’s Enterprise Cloud Native” with the upcoming WLSDM and WL-OPC versions.
I am confident that these advancements will bring a new level of differentiation and innovation globally in the realm of Java APM and application performance monitoring technologies.
